On the curing rack.....

Sooo... last night I decided to finish up some mini bundt cake soaps.

Wildberry Scone Mini Bundt Cakes

Not too sure about this. I needed to sleep on it.  I am little upset that I used the wrong piping tip... oh well... I'm loving the swirl action on the cuts though! This will be either sold as one or in half.  I do love the blue color and I am super satisfied with the icing recipe.  I wish I had formulated this when I made the cupcakes.  But that means...more cupcakes to make or maybe another batch of mini bundts.

The base is scented in Wildberry Scone & the icing is left unscented.

On The Curing Rack...

Elf Sweat cupcake soaps designed by Amya and she also made the embeds...but of course it was made by me.  She enjoyed telling me how to do it too lol!!!

Vino Rosso Dolce cupcake soap. The base is my own fragrance oil blend with berry, grape, vanilla & mellon notes. The frosting has a touch of Beneath the Stars fragrance. The two compliments each other well

Soaping adventures with Amya

Created by PhotoGrid. https://market.android.com/details?id=com.roidapp.photogrid

Since my five year old can not help me make CP soap (obviously) when it comes to melt & pour she's all over it. This was her contribution to my next batch of soap, Elf Sweat.

She basically did it all except for cutting the soap & I had to pour the white since the cup was too hot for her fingers. Trust me...she put up a fight about both lol!

She did a very good job! Go Amya! I am blessed to be able to share these experiences with her & hope that she continues with this. Crossing my fingers & toes that baby Avery has a love for this too when she's older.

Yay!! I finally decided to start blogging!!

I am sitting here thinking..."How do I get this going? What do I say?" I've never blogged before!!! So... here I go!

If you are not familiar with who I am... My name is Markeeta, people who REALLY know me call me Keeta. I am first a mother of a five year old little girl (Amya) and ALL OF A SUDDEN one on the way lol! I will be blessed to have yet another little girl! Yay me and OMG....all at the same time. She will be here in January and her name will be Avery.

I am a licensed therapist by day and work with the mental health and addictions population. Pretty interesting I must say.... I've been soaping for over four years but really three when I actually knew and had a good understanding of the craft. I love it!! If it was not for my daughter having eczema, I never would have thought about natural products or the soap making process... so thank you Amya Rain!!!!

My search for making natural skincare products for my one year old led me to youtube which once upon a time I paid no attention to. But as I browsed further I stumbled upon several soapmakers at the time Sherri from Ariel's Secret Garden, Dani from Natures Essence soaps, Karen from Edens Secret, Kia from back in the day Beacons Creations (Petals Bath Boutique), Hillary from HilsHeavenScents, Bonnie from Good Earth Spa, Kim from My Natures Art and Janine from Wicked Scentuals. There are a host of others but in the beginning this is who I watched and how I fell in love with soapmaking. Back then you did not have people showing you really how to formulate recipes and such... you needed to do it on your own. So I had to actually LEARN how to do it correctly. I read and researched so much. Trust me, the first year and a half I had soooo many failed batches but in the end I have an appreciation about the craft.
